Your Playlist Is Discipling You
In this verse-by-verse teaching on 1 Samuel 10:6–16, titled “Your Playlist Is Discipling You,” we examine how spiritual formation often happens subtly through what we listen to, dwell on, and allow to shape our thinking. This passage highlights the transforming work of the Spirit in Saul’s life—and challenges us to consider what voices are shaping ours.
Recorded on October 15, 2025, this study explores the spiritual power of music and how it influences the heart, the mind, and ultimately our obedience to God. Scripture shows that music is never neutral—it carries ideas, values, and desires that can either align with God’s truth or quietly pull us away from it. As Saul experiences outward change yet struggles with inward submission, we’re reminded that what we repeatedly listen to can either reinforce God’s word or normalize the very sins Christ died to save us from.
This teaching calls believers to discernment: to take seriously the lyrics and messages we consume, and to ask whether they honor and glorify God or subtly celebrate rebellion, impurity, and self-rule. True transformation involves not only moments with the Spirit, but ongoing choices that reflect loyalty to God’s authority.
