When Temptation Comes
In this verse-by-verse teaching through Mark 1:12–13, titled “When Temptation Comes,” we follow Jesus into the wilderness, where He is tempted by Satan for forty days.
This passage reminds us that temptation can come immediately after a spiritual victory. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit and perfectly within the Father’s will, yet He still faced hardship and spiritual opposition. Being tempted does not mean we have sinned; what matters is how we respond.
Jesus faced real temptation but remained completely without sin. Where Adam and Israel failed, Jesus remained faithful. He is not only our example in temptation—He is our victorious King who understands our weakness and helps us when we are tempted.
When temptation comes, will we rely on our own strength, or will we trust God and stand upon His Word?
